Over the past fourteen years, the story of Guild Wars 2® has been told across six expansions and five Living World™ seasons. While we’re proud of this extensive content library, we’re always looking for ways to improve how new and returning players access our adventures in Tyria. Today, we’re launching a series of updates to our expansion bundles and the Guild Wars 2 Starter Pack to increase their overall value, streamline our offerings, and introduce some major changes to how players access Living World content.
Here’s is a breakdown of what has changed:
- Living World Season 2 is now free as part of the base Guild Wars 2 game! Like Living World Season 1, all players with a level 80 character will now have access to season 2. This change allows players to play seamlessly from the end of the core story to where Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns® picks up.
- Living World seasons 3 and 4 are now included in the Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns and Guild Wars 2: Path of Fire® bundle. For players who already own these expansions, any missing episodes from Living World seasons 3 and 4 will be automatically unlocked.
- Living World Season 5, The Icebrood Saga, is now included in Guild Wars 2: End of Dragons®. For players who already own this expansion, any missing episodes from Living World Season 5 will be automatically unlocked.
- Living World seasons are no longer available for individual purchase as they are either included for all players or included as part of expansions as detailed above.
- The updated Guild Wars 2 Elder Dragon Saga bundle contains Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns, Guild Wars 2: Path of Fire, and Guild Wars 2: End of Dragons along with Living World season 3, 4, and 5.
- We’ve added a new Guild Wars 2 Astral Ward Saga bundle that contains Guild Wars 2: Secrets of the Obscure®, Guild Wars 2: Janthir Wilds™, and our latest expansion, Guild Wars 2: Visions of Eternity™.
- The updated Guild Wars 2 Complete Collection has it all: six Guild Wars 2 expansions, plus Living World seasons 3, 4, and 5 (remember, Living World seasons 1 and 2 are free for all players). Buying this unlocks all the paid content from the 14 years that Guild Wars 2 has been running.
- The Guild Wars 2 Starter Pack has been improved to provide more value to players by including these additional items: a Copper-Fed Salvage-o-Matic, 5 Teleport to Friend devices, and 2 Black Lion Chest Keys. Players who have previously purchased the starter pack will automatically receive these additional items via in-game mail shortly.

Expansions are still available for purchase individually and if you’ve never played Living World Season 2, everyone can now experience it for free just by logging in!
Other Important Details
If you purchased any Living World content after September 12, 2026, your account will automatically receive a gem refund equal to the value of that content. This also includes partial gem refunds for purchases of the Guild Wars 2 Elder Dragon Saga—Complete Collection. You will receive the full value of your Living World content, and the refund will be applied automatically to your account. If you do not receive your Guild Wars 2 Starter Pack items or Living World gem refund by October 15, please contact our Support team at support@arena.net.
Each bundle includes the Character Slots and Shared Inventory Slots that would normally come with their associated expansion. If you already own one or more expansions within a bundle, the associated Character Slots and Shared Inventory Slots will not be applied an additional time.
Our goal with these changes is to make jumping into Guild Wars 2 as seamless as possible. By increasing the value of our expansions and simplifying the purchasing options, we are making it easier than ever for new and returning players to dive into the vast, evolving world of Tyria.
