This brought new life to our 21-year-old game, complete with regular new content updates, a new dungeon, and a launch onto mobile platforms—a first for ArenaNet®.

Welcome to Xotecha
In Guild Wars Afterlife, you are called to the isle of Xotecha, deep within the Mists, to join the Order of the Moonless Night. The Order watches over the Unformed, a jungle of shared dreams where memory is made manifest. It is here where they serve as shepherds for wayward spirits guiding them toward reconciliation with any unresolved tragedies and regret from their lives. Any spirit who lingers in their anguish for too long risks being overtaken by their pain, causing a terrible transformation into beings of pure rage, Nightmares.
Recently, throngs of lost souls have flooded the Unformed, and a mysterious cult has begun meddling in the affairs of the afterlife. Overwhelmed and missing one of their elders, the Order of the Moonless Night enlists your aid before they are overrun with Nightmares. Will you answer their call?
A New Way to Play Guild Wars
In Guild Wars Afterlife, you’ll adventure into Xotecha with your existing characters, but you’ll get to play them in ways that you’ve never experienced before. As you seek to assist the Order of the Moonless Night, you’ll enter an ever-changing dungeon called the Unformed.
No two trips into the Unformed are ever the same. After selecting a starting loadout, you’ll face a unique lineup of maps, encounters, and bosses as the Mists weave lost memories around you. In addition, we’re introducing a skill-drafting system that lets you choose new abilities as you progress. The skills offered during these choices are not limited to your primary and secondary professions, so the possibilities are endless!
As you complete runs, you’ll unlock both rewards that impact future dungeon runs and permanent rewards you can enjoy outside of Xotecha. In addition, with each venture into the Unformed, the story of Afterlife will unfold.
Guild Wars Afterlife Arrives Early Next Year
Guild Wars Afterlife* is slated to launch on PC, Steam, Apple App Store, and Google Play on January 13, 2027. Prepurchase now at a discounted price of 23.99 USD/EUR (actual discounted price may vary by platform/location), which includes the ancestral-themed Vestments of the Order costume today as a bonus! At launch, Guild Wars Afterlife will return to its standard price of 29.99 USD/EUR.
