Last weekend, the Guild Wars 2 team took over the ballroom at the Renaissance Hotel in downtown Seattle for a six-hour Anniversary Bash. We invited fans in to meet and mingle with devs, hear an address from ArenaNet president Mike O’Brien, catch a sneak peek of our Tequatl Rising release, listen to a panel and ask questions of developers, and watch the final match of the Guild Wars 2 Invitational Tournament.
It was a tremendous event, and we’d like to thank all of the fans who showed up in person or tuned in for the livestream.
Congratulations to teams Car Crash and [SYNC], who won the European and North American Regional Qualifying Tournaments and came to Seattle for an epic showdown! We’d like to thank both teams for an exciting finale. Each team put on excellent display of skill and sportsmanship.
Team Car Crash had a superb performance and won the day, earning the glory of taking first place in the first-ever Guild Wars 2 Invitational Tournament – and, of course, $10,000 in prize money!
Thanks once again to all of the fans who came out and took part in the Anniversary Bash. Like the living world of Guild Wars 2, these events are only as great as they are because of you.
