Wintersday on Guild Chat: A Summary

by Anatoli Ingram on December 15, 2015

On the latest episode of Guild Chat, host Rubi Bayer and Game Designer Nellie Hughes visited Divinity’s Reach to preview all of the Wintersday activities arriving today. Read on to find out how to get started!

Wintersday takes place in the city’s Crown Pavilion, where Toymaster Tixx has parked his massive golem-shaped airship, the Infinirarium, in the airspace overhead. You can follow peppermint candy icons on your map to find various festive activities.

In the open world, you can gather gifts from Wintersday trees, get into snowball fights with NPCs and fellow players, wrap gifts to give to unfortunate orphans, and donate gold to Ho-Ho-Tron for the benefit of the less fortunate. When the little golem has gathered enough donations, an escort event will begin; your job will be to punt thieving skritt away from the delivery dolyaks and make sure the goods get to their final destination.

In Tixx’s Infinirarium, you can help prevent a hostile takeover of his workshop by helping (and occasionally hindering) toys and skritt, or by defending your base in Toypocalypse. The musically-inclined can test their skills in Bell Choir, and bouncy types have the Winter Wonderland jumping puzzle to look forward to. If the snow in Divinity’s Reach just isn’t enough, you can go all in with the Snowball Fight Player vs. Player minigame.

New guild hall decorations are available to craft by characters with the scribing profession at level 75 or above. Deck your guild hall with festive lampposts, wreaths, Wintersday trees, a reindeer ice sculpture, and snow machines to facilitate your own guild-wide snowball fights!

Finally, carry your Wintersday spirit with you all year long by crafting Winter’s Presence, a shoulder skin that envelops your character in a snowfall effect. You’ll be able to earn components of the item collection by completing Wintersday activities multiple times.
